Binance recovers 90% of funds stolen in largest crypto hack

hotnews.ro (Romanian) —

Binance announced Saturday that approximately 90% of cryptocurrency assets stolen in the largest hack in crypto history have been recovered, with the remaining 10% posing a challenge due to low liquidity. The cyberattack on the world's largest crypto exchange resulted in losses estimated at over $6.3 billion, prompting a suspension of deposits and withdrawals. Binance stated user funds are safe and all losses will be covered. The company said the remaining 10% consists of tokens difficult to purchase in necessary quantities, but it will absorb the financial impact without passing costs to users. Withdrawals are expected to reopen Sunday, November 1, 2026, using its SAFU emergency fund.
