Binance users withdraw $3.64 billion after withdrawals resume

overclockers.ru (Russian) —

Binance resumed cryptocurrency withdrawals after a major hack that stole approximately $6.3 billion in assets, with the company compensating clients for about 95% of losses. The phased reopening began November 1, initially covering 15 popular crypto assets. Following the resumption, users withdrew roughly $3.64 billion, about 2.1% of Binance's total assets, according to Reuters. The exchange reported the situation stabilized afterward, with deposit volumes returning to normal levels. The FBI attributed the attack to North Korean hacking group TraderTraitor. Hackers converted stolen funds into Ethereum and laundered them through decentralized finance services and crypto exchange tools.
