Binance recovers 90% of stolen crypto after record $5.8B heist

dn.se (Swedish) —

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has recovered approximately 90 percent of the 62 billion kronor stolen earlier this week, in what is considered the largest crypto theft and possibly the biggest bank heist in history. The company announced the recovery on Saturday, citing a statement reported by Reuters. The remaining 10 percent consists of less liquid tokens, which may take longer to repurchase or restore in sufficient quantities. Binance holds roughly one-third of the global cryptocurrency trading market. The theft surpassed all previous crypto heists in scale, highlighting ongoing security vulnerabilities in the digital asset sector.
