Winter will be brutal for Ukrainians at home and Russians at the front – Samus

Mikhailo Samus, director of the New Geopolitics Research Network, said in an interview with Radio NV that the coming winter will be very difficult for Ukrainian civilians in the rear and for Russian soldiers on the front lines. Samus stated Russia will increase its attacks with jet-powered drones, terrorizing Kyiv and other major cities, making the creation of an effective air defense system a huge challenge for Ukraine. He added that Russian forces will suffer massive losses as they send unprepared soldiers to maintain their offensive, creating opportunities for Ukrainian forces to use smarter tactics and new technologies. Ukraine has tested four new interceptors for Russian jet-powered drones, but they are not yet in mass production. Ukraine currently intercepts only about 60% of jet-powered drones compared to 90-95% of gasoline-powered ones. Ukrainian forces have also made advances in the Donetsk region, liberating territory and disrupting Russian plans to encircle Druzhkivka.
