Russian Drone Strike on Central Kyiv Kills Boy, Injures Seven

A Russian drone strike on a high-rise building in central Kyiv on Friday morning killed a 14-year-old boy and injured at least seven other people, Ukrainian officials said. A separate attack in the Odesa region killed one person. The strike hit a 16-storey residential building in Kyiv's central Pechersk district, with an explosion heard near the city centre. The overnight attacks also caused fires in non-residential buildings in two other city districts, where one person was injured. Russia has recently launched near-constant barrages of faster, high-flying drones against Kyiv that are harder to intercept, while denying it deliberately targets civilians. Russia's defence ministry said the strikes targeted Ukrainian defence industry facilities, logistics centres and military vessels.
