Ukrainian drones hit Russian oil refineries over 1,400 km from border

Ukrainian drones struck multiple Russian oil refineries on Friday morning, including one located over 1,400 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. One person was killed in attacks on Belgorod. The Novoshatinsk oil refinery halted operations after approximately 50 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the Rostov region overnight, with the facility sustaining damage, according to regional governor Yuri Slyusar. Eight people were wounded in drone attacks on the Ulyanovsk region, where civilian infrastructure was also damaged, and four were injured in the Voronezh region. The Perm region faced a "massive" drone attack, with 39 drones shot down and one man killed by shrapnel, according to governor Dmitry Makhonin. The Lukoil refinery in Perm, one of Russia's largest with an annual capacity exceeding 13 million tons of crude oil, sustained damage. The facility has been targeted before but less frequently due to its distance from Ukraine.
