Ukrainian drones strike Perm refinery, causing major fire

Drones attacked an oil refinery in Perm, Russia, on Friday morning, September 25, sparking a large fire at the site. The attack damaged the AVT-5 unit, according to the monitoring channel Exilenova+. Local authorities have not yet reported on the consequences of the attack. The facility, Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez, is one of Russia's largest refineries, processing over 13 million tons of oil annually. Previous drone attacks on Perm were reported on September 7 and August 21, with the latter likely damaging a primary oil distillation unit. On September 2, a fire occurred at the Proton-PM plant producing rocket engines.
