Ukrzaliznytsia to review safety protocols after Dnipro drone attack

ua.korrespondent.net (Ukrainian) —

Ukrzaliznytsia will review its safety protocols after a Russian drone struck a railway station platform in Dnipro, aiming to accelerate responses to threats during air alerts. The company announced this on Thursday, October 29. Prior to the strike, the company activated station-wide announcements about the city's air alert, and heightened danger was identified as the drone approached. In an electric train heading to Zaporizhzhia, an evacuation was announced about 10 minutes before impact, with voice messages and a conductor checking each car, instructing passengers to leave the platform and move at least 200 meters away. Despite these measures, many people remained near the train at the moment of impact, resulting in numerous casualties. The company called the attack "deplorable and vile," urging passengers to heed air raid warnings and care for one another, while acknowledging it cannot stop the enemy's efforts to destroy the railway.
