Russia uses ceasefire to reinforce troops in occupied Oleshky, Ukrainian soldier says

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

Ukrainian serviceman and political scientist Volodymyr Molchanov said Russia is using the ceasefire in occupied Oleshky to rapidly reinforce its military group there, bringing in supplies previously blocked by Ukrainian drone surveillance. According to Molchanov, Russian forces are moving entire transport convoys carrying fuel, food, and artillery shells, including for rocket systems. He warned that after the temporary truce ends, shelling of Ukraine's right bank may resume with greater intensity, citing past patterns of intensified attacks following previous ceasefires. The ceasefire in Oleshky began on October 27 following a local truce brokered by US First Lady Melania Trump, with about 1,700 civilians remaining in the city. The silence regime is set to last until November 1, with demining of civilian routes currently underway.
