Kherson region records first day without Russian attacks in years
For the first time in recent memory, the Kherson region recorded no Russian attacks or strikes on civilian or critical infrastructure in the past day, according to regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin on Thursday, October 29. No casualties or injuries were reported. Six people were evacuated from liberated communities in the region on October 29. The lull follows a local ceasefire agreement in Oleshky, brokered by US First Lady Melania Trump on October 23, which has been expanded to ensure safe passage for humanitarian convoys. The halt in attacks marks a rare reprieve for Kherson, which has faced near-daily Russian artillery and drone strikes for years. The regional administration also reported no attacks on October 27-28.
