Pulkovo receives 16 diverted flights as Moscow airspace restrictions lift

dp.ru (Russian) —

St. Petersburg's Pulkovo airport received 16 diverted flights as a reserve airfield due to airspace restrictions at Moscow airports, which were in effect from 4:00 to 6:00 AM. Restrictions were lifted at 6:46 AM Moscow time. Passengers on six of the diverted flights were disembarked at Pulkovo due to long waits and sent to Moscow by alternative means, according to the airport operator. By 11:30 AM, two flights were cancelled, including a departure to Izhevsk and an arrival from Moscow, with several other departures and arrivals delayed. The restrictions followed an overnight drone attack on the Moscow region, with Moscow's mayor reporting 613 drones heading toward the area. Air defense forces neutralized most of them, destroying 231 drones on approach to the city.
