Ukraine launches over 600 drones at Moscow region during Russia-Africa summit

rtbf.be (French) —

Ukraine launched over 600 drones toward the Moscow region overnight, according to Moscow's mayor, with most intercepted by air defenses. The attack occurred as Moscow hosts a Russia-Africa summit. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported 613 drones were directed at the region from 8:30 p.m. October 28 to 7:00 a.m. October 29, with 231 destroyed near Moscow. The strikes coincide with the third Russia-Africa summit, attended by delegations from 48 countries. The attacks come as Moscow and Kiev prepare to resume US-mediated peace talks in November, over four years after Russia's full-scale invasion began. In mid-September, Ukraine launched around 1,600 drones toward Moscow, the largest such attack in a single day.
