Drones hit Russia's only chemical plant making bulletproof vest component in Bashkortostan

rbc.ua (Ukrainian) —

Drones attacked the only chemical plant in Russia that produces a key component for bulletproof vests, located in Bashkortostan, on the night of October 29. The strike targeted the Bashkir Soda Company in Sterlitamak, the sole Russian manufacturer of terephthaloyl chloride, a compound used to create synthetic ballistic fibers and aramid materials like Kevlar analogues for body armor, helmets, and military vehicle protection. The plant was previously hit by drones in late August. Separately, drones also attacked Moscow on the night of October 28-29, prompting air defense responses and temporary flight restrictions at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports.
