Ukrainian drones strike Moscow region and Bashkortostan, disrupting flights
Ukrainian drones launched a mass attack on Russia overnight, targeting the Moscow region and other areas, disrupting airport operations and forcing two flights from Turkey to turn back. Explosions were also reported in Bashkortostan and the Kaluga region. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported over 50 drones shot down in the Moscow region between 21:00 and 23:00, with air defense active all night. Russian aviation authorities restricted arrivals and departures at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports, while witnesses reported explosions near Naro-Fominsk. In Sterlitamak, Bashkortostan, a series of explosions targeted an industrial zone, with smoke rising afterward. Emergency services were deployed at debris fall sites, and monitoring channels reported the aftermath.
