Iran warns US of painful strikes, sets conditions for talks

Iran has warned the US of new military strikes and set conditions for resuming negotiations. The military headquarters Khatam al-Anbiya said all US bases and interests in the region would face continuous, effective, and painful attacks without restriction if new strikes occur. States in the region supporting a US attack would be considered accomplices and could expect no restraint or leniency. The military cited unconfirmed reports of a US meeting in a European country, allegedly arranging renewed attacks on Iran with green light from some Arab states. Iranian leadership tied a return to talks with the US to fulfillment of its demands. Parliament Speaker Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf said reopening the Strait of Hormuz depends on the US meeting all Tehran's conditions, with no return to previous negotiations otherwise. Iran's positions are clear and non-negotiable. Earlier, top security coordinator Mohsen Resai signaled readiness to end the conflict based on a June framework agreement, listing seven conditions including release of frozen assets, ending wars on all fronts, lifting port and ship blockades, and non-interference in internal affairs. Further talks, including on Iran's nuclear program, would only follow full US compliance.
