Italy's Crosetto: US satellite limits for Ukraine a 'grave error'
Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto called the US decision to limit Ukraine's access to satellite systems and intelligence a "grave error" that "makes absolutely no sense," warning it could prolong Russia's invasion rather than bring peace. In a BBC interview, Crosetto said peace will only come when Putin is convinced the war is at a stalemate, but that weakening Ukraine would make him believe he can win and continue fighting. He pledged Italian military support would continue while his government remains in office, though parliamentary approval for further deliveries will become harder as elections approach. Crosetto also accused Moscow of running disinformation campaigns targeting Italian political figures and public opinion to weaken hostility toward Russia, while noting Italy faces hundreds of cyberattacks daily but has avoided major sabotage incidents.
