Brazil's Bolsonaro flees to Miami after election loss
Flávio Bolsonaro, the losing candidate in Brazil's Sunday presidential election, has left the country and arrived in Miami, according to the BBC. The Trump administration reportedly granted him a visa for himself and his family. The Brazilian politician met his brother Eduardo in Miami after departing Tuesday. This follows Brazilian police revoking his passport amid a money laundering investigation, after he failed to voluntarily surrender the document as requested. Reports initially suggested Bolsonaro fled to Argentina first, though Argentine officials denied he sought asylum there. His father, former President Jair Bolsonaro, also temporarily moved to the US after losing an election before returning to Brazil, where he is currently serving a 27-year prison sentence for attempted coup.
