Flávio Bolsonaro flees Brazil justice via Argentina to the US
Flávio Bolsonaro, who lost Brazil's presidential election to Lula da Silva, fled to the United States via Argentina, evading a court-ordered travel ban and passport seizure. He landed in Miami on Wednesday. Bolsonaro crossed the border from Brazil into Argentina on Tuesday night with his wife and two daughters, using valid documents, before boarding a private jet that refueled in Ecuador. The escape came after Brazil's Supreme Court ordered his passports surrendered amid money laundering investigations. US President Donald Trump said he would approve visas for Bolsonaro and his family, calling them "good people." Bolsonaro faces legal scrutiny over alleged money laundering and dubious payments, and his senatorial immunity expires in January 2027.
