International media report Flávio Bolsonaro fled Brazil for the US after passport order
International media reported Tuesday that Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro fled to the United States, less than 24 hours after federal police ordered him to surrender his passports. The clandestine departure came within 48 hours of his election loss. The Argentine outlet Infobae reported he may have flown with family on a private jet from Puerto Iguazú, though this was unconfirmed. La Nación suggested US involvement, noting his brother Eduardo is also in the country, while The Guardian said the flight could seal the fate of Brazil's far-right. Flávio's whereabouts remain uncertain after he missed the deadline to hand over his passports, which were subsequently cancelled. His campaign coordinator initially denied the escape, and former President Jair Bolsonaro remains imprisoned for an attempted coup.
