Flavio Bolsonaro barred from leaving Brazil after election loss
Flavio Bolsonaro, defeated in Brazil's presidential election Sunday against Lula, said Monday that the judiciary has barred him from leaving the country. The son of former President Jair Bolsonaro stated in a social media video that he received the court order from federal police. Bolsonaro said he was ordered to surrender his passports and is prohibited from exiting Brazil. The decision reportedly comes from Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, who oversaw the trial against his father, currently under house arrest serving a 27-year sentence for coup-related charges. On Sunday night, he announced he would seek to annul the election over alleged irregularities, despite official results giving Lula victory with 51.7 percent of the vote. Lula will begin his fourth term as Brazil's president.
