Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro enters US on canceled diplomatic passport
Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro entered the United States on Wednesday using a diplomatic passport, despite the document being canceled, according to US immigration records. He was ordered on Monday to surrender all his passports by Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. The diplomatic passport, which Brazilian congressmen are entitled to, was used to formalize his entry into the US. Flavio had previously used an Italian passport to leave Argentina on a private flight, while his wife Fernanda used a Brazilian passport, and the couple traveled with their two daughters. Flavio, a defeated candidate in Brazil's presidential race, arrived on US soil Wednesday morning. The canceled diplomatic passport should not have been used by the senator, and the situation adds to ongoing legal scrutiny surrounding the Bolsonaro family.
