Flávio Bolsonaro Flees Brazil, Federal Police Investigate
Argentine media report that Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro may have left Brazil for the United States on a private flight, prompting an investigation by Brazil's Federal Police. This follows a Brazilian court order requiring him to surrender his passport within 24 hours and banning him from leaving the country. The flight reportedly departed from Puerto Iguazú, Argentina, at 2:00 AM local time on Tuesday, using a Gulfstream G400 jet registered to Baires Fly. Federal Police are contacting Argentine authorities to verify the senator's entry, though he did not pass through official migration checkpoints, and Brazilian citizens can enter Argentina for tourism without a passport. Campaign coordinator Rogério Marinho denied the senator left Brazil, saying "He did not leave." If confirmed, Flávio could join his brother Eduardo Bolsonaro, who has lived in Texas since February 2025 and faces a four-year prison sentence for coercion, fearing arrest if he returns to Brazil.
