Flavio Bolsonaro flees Brazil, heads to Ecuador via Argentina
Defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro fled Brazil and is en route to Ecuador after entering Argentina, despite a Supreme Court ban on his departure amid corruption and money laundering investigations. Bolsonaro, who lost the October 25 runoff to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, crossed into Argentina on Tuesday night and boarded a private flight to Guayaquil, Ecuador, with his wife and two daughters. Argentina's migration agency stated he entered with valid documents despite the court order. The Supreme Court had ordered Bolsonaro to surrender his passports, and he faces losing parliamentary immunity after his defeat. He has not acknowledged the election loss, citing extended polling hours, while the U.S. State Department said it would issue visas to him and his family.
