Flavio Bolsonaro flies to Ecuador after fleeing Brazil, Argentina says
Flavio Bolsonaro is flying to Ecuador, not the US, according to Argentine authorities, who announced on Wednesday that the conservative senator boarded a private flight to Guayaquil three days after his defeat in Brazil's presidential election runoff. Argentine immigration officials said Bolsonaro crossed the land border with valid travel documents and no legal impediment, then boarded a private plane with family members from Puerto Iguazu. This contradicts earlier US media reports claiming he had arrived on American soil. Bolsonaro has not conceded the election to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who won with 52% of the vote. His passports were cancelled after he failed to surrender them, and he faces investigations for corruption and money laundering.
