Brazilian court orders probe into alleged foreign election interference
Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Flávio Dino ordered the Federal Police to open an inquiry into alleged foreign interference in Brazil's elections. The investigation targets possible illegal international influence on the electoral process. The probe will examine negotiations between the US-based conservative group Rockbridge Network, linked to Donald Trump's Republican Party, and Brazilian businessmen Tallis Gomes and Pedro Sang. It also covers alleged foreign funding for Flávio Bolsonaro's campaign, election advertising via foreign profiles, and the Polymarket platform. Additionally, investigators will look into potential links between political financing and economic interests in critical minerals and rare earths, as well as alleged algorithmic manipulation and intentional asymmetries by internet platforms Meta and X.
