Brazilian Lawmaker Seeks Asset Freeze for Flávio Bolsonaro After Court Order Breach
Representative Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP) has asked Supreme Court Justice Alexandre Moraes to freeze the assets and bank accounts of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and his wife, Fernanda, after the couple left Brazil on Tuesday, violating a court order. The request follows Moraes' Monday order for Flávio to surrender his passports and a travel ban. Flávio, who is under investigation for alleged money laundering, had denied he would leave the country. The couple reportedly crossed into Argentina and flew to Miami on a private jet. Hilton argues the violation poses a risk to the legal process and cites a precedent for extending measures to spouses. Separately, PT lawmakers requested Flávio's preventive detention and an Interpol red notice. The Bolsonaro family has faced repeated judicial actions from Moraes.
