Brazil's STF Continues Investigations Into Flávio Bolsonaro After His Flight
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro will continue facing two criminal investigations in Brazil's Supreme Federal Court (STF) despite fleeing to the United States, where he is under house arrest. The investigations involve alleged money laundering linked to lawyer Willer Tomaz and payments from former banker Daniel Vorcaro for the film "Dark Horse," a biography of former President Jair Bolsonaro. Justice Alexandre de Moraes recently ordered the blocking of up to R$6 billion from Tomaz. Flávio retains senatorial privileges until February 1st, and STF jurisdiction may continue after his term ends if crimes relate to public office. His passports were canceled after he failed to surrender them within 24 hours as ordered.
