Brazilian Police Investigate Possible Bolsonaro Flight to US via Argentina
Brazil's Federal Police are investigating whether presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro fled to the United States via Argentina after a court banned him from leaving the country following his election loss to President Lula da Silva. Bolsonaro was ordered Monday to surrender his passports within 24 hours but had not done so by Tuesday morning. His campaign denied he left the country, while police confirmed he did not pass through Brazilian border controls. A private Argentine aircraft remains in Puerto Iguazu. The court order stems from a money laundering investigation against Bolsonaro. His brother Eduardo, who faces arrest in Brazil, had suggested Flavio should leave the country if he lost the election.
