Ukraine approves plan to shield data centers from Russian strikes

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that on Friday, September 25, the Stavka Supreme Commander-in-Chief meeting approved decisions to protect and ensure the uninterrupted operation of data center infrastructure. The decisions also covered other critical communication facilities, with full implementation required at all levels as a personal responsibility of officials and intelligence heads. The meeting addressed interceptor test results against Russian jet-powered drones, identified key defense assets, and accelerated production of various jet engines in Ukraine. Zelensky heard a detailed intelligence report on Russian technological plans for 2027, including production capabilities and component supply schemes. He prioritized new partner sanctions packages targeting shadow schemes supporting Russian drone and missile production. These measures follow recent Russian strikes on Ukrainian data centers, which disrupted service for approximately 100,000 subscribers in Kyiv and caused outages across multiple regions.
