Trump says he won't intervene in Flavio Bolsonaro's case
US President Donald Trump said Wednesday he will not intervene in the case of Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, who fled to the US and declared himself Brazil's "rightful president." Trump added that Bolsonaro and his family were treated "very unfairly." Flavio Bolsonaro, son of former far-right President Jair Bolsonaro, arrived in Florida via Argentina and Ecuador. He was granted entry under US immigration laws, having already received visas from the Trump administration. He announced he will "lead the opposition" from the US. The senator faces investigations in Brazil, including for corruption and money laundering. Trump described Brazil's presidential election, won by leftist Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, as "strange elections," while declining to comment further on Flavio Bolsonaro's claims.
