Trump declines to back Bolsonaro's claim as Brazil's true president
US President Donald Trump declined Wednesday to support Senator Flávio Bolsonaro's claim of being Brazil's "true president," saying he would not comment on the matter. Trump noted he granted Bolsonaro entry into the US but would not get involved. Bolsonaro, defeated in Sunday's presidential runoff, initially released a statement calling himself "true elected president" before revising it to "leader of Brazil." He arrived in Miami Wednesday after fleeing Brazil following a Supreme Court order to surrender his passports. The senator maintains unproven claims of election fraud, citing extended voting hours due to weather and transportation issues. His own campaign had also requested the extension, which added only 34,808 votes after 5 p.m.
