Bolsonaro declares himself Brazil's 'true president' from Miami
Flavio Bolsonaro, who refused to concede defeat to Lula in Sunday's presidential runoff, has left Brazil for Miami, Florida, where he and his family received visas from the Trump administration. Bolsonaro, who also defied a Supreme Court order to surrender his passports amid a money laundering investigation, thanked President Donald Trump and Argentine President Javier Milei for their assistance. In a statement on social media, he declared himself the "true president" and claimed criminals stole the election, vowing to lead the opposition from the United States. Bolsonaro provided no evidence for his accusations, and international observers reported no irregularities in the vote. Lula's office, the federal electoral court, and the Supreme Court did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
