Bolsonaro brothers meet with Ramagem in US after election loss

gazetadopovo.com.br (Portuguese) —

Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro met with his brother Eduardo Bolsonaro and former congressman Alexandre Ramagem in the United States on Wednesday, following his arrival there that morning. Eduardo stated on social media that he and his brother will not give up on Brazil, while Ramagem said Flávio is now "free from persecution" in the US. Flávio had earlier declared himself the "true elected president" before retracting the statement. Flávio lost the presidential election to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva by about 4.4 million votes on Sunday. Ramagem, sentenced to 16 years for an alleged coup attempt, had his mandate revoked by Brazil's Supreme Court.
