Trump Aids Brazilian Senator's Escape to Florida
Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, defeated in Sunday's presidential election, has fled to Florida with temporary entry authorization granted by order of US President Donald Trump, according to American officials. A White House official arranged a private jet for his departure. Flavio entered the US under humanitarian parole status, which allows temporary stay while treated as an admission applicant. He is expected to later seek permanent residency through an accelerated process, similar to his brother Eduardo, who received a green card in July. The senator left Brazil after authorities ordered him to surrender his passports amid money laundering investigations. He crossed into Argentina by land Tuesday night before flying to Miami, where he proclaimed himself Brazil's legitimate leader.
