Bolsonaro's son flees to US after Brazil travel ban, aided by Trump
Flavio Bolsonaro, who lost Brazil's presidential election on October 25 and faces multiple criminal investigations, fled to the United States with help from the Trump administration. He entered the U.S. on Wednesday via a temporary humanitarian parole authorized by Trump. Brazilian police had ordered Bolsonaro to surrender his passports amid a money laundering probe involving over $1 billion through online casinos. After he failed to comply, authorities annulled the passports and banned his departure, but he crossed into Argentina by van Tuesday evening and flew via Ecuador to Miami on a private jet arranged by White House aide Jason Miller. Bolsonaro declared himself Brazil's "legitimate elected president" without evidence, claiming election fraud and political persecution. Trump confirmed granting him entry, calling the election "very strange." Bolsonaro may receive expedited green card status like his brother Eduardo, who lives in Texas.
