Trump says Russia lost control of oil industry in Ukraine war
President Donald Trump said Russia has lost control of its diesel oil industry due to the war in Ukraine, calling for an end to the "ridiculous" and "never ending" conflict in a Truth Social post Monday. Trump cited Ukrainian attacks that have disabled nearly half of Russia's refining capacity, noting many diesel refineries have been blown up and are temporarily out of commission. He added that 25,000 people, mostly soldiers, are being killed each month. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded that Ukraine is ready to stop attacks on Russian energy infrastructure if Moscow does the same for Ukraine's energy sector, critical infrastructure, and food exports. Trump and Zelenskyy are scheduled to meet in New York Tuesday.
