White House staffer helped arrange Flávio Bolsonaro's US jet escape
A private jet that transported Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro to the United States was reportedly arranged by a White House staffer, according to a newspaper report. The flight departed from Argentina. The escape plan was executed on Monday after Flávio Bolsonaro was informed he must surrender his passports, a precautionary measure ordered the previous day by Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. The New York Times reported that Eduardo Bolsonaro contacted Jason Miller, a White House official, as soon as his brother was notified. A government source told the NYT that Flávio Bolsonaro is expected to apply for permanent US residency, known as a green card. The request would reportedly be processed quickly, similar to what was granted to Eduardo Bolsonaro. Federal Police are investigating the escape route from Brasília to Foz do Iguaçu, suspecting logistical help from businessmen, political allies, and possibly the Argentine government.
