Vinted removes stolen goods listings after French protests

nos.nl (Dutch) —

Vinted has removed listings for items believed to be stolen during widespread protests in France last Saturday, and has tightened monitoring of suspicious ads. The secondhand platform is cooperating with French authorities. The looting targeted stores including Sephora and luxury brands like Céline, Louis Vuitton, and Hermès. Some sellers explicitly mentioned the protest date of October 17 or admitted the goods were stolen in their ad descriptions. French Digital Affairs Minister Le Hénanff urged platforms like Amazon, eBay, and Vinted to delete such ads immediately and cooperate with prosecutors. Vinted says it acted swiftly and may permanently ban accounts violating its rules.
