Milan clashes: 4 adults jailed, 1 under house arrest; judge cites 'destabilization project'
Four adults arrested during Saturday's clashes in Milan have been sent to prison, while a fifth was placed under house arrest with electronic monitoring. The judge cited an "extremely high" risk of recurrence and an ongoing "project to destabilize public order." The judge noted that new protests were being organized via social media accounts under investigation, which promote a "decidedly violent and insurrectional profile." The suspects face charges including devastation, looting, and aggravated resistance. A 24-year-old was given house arrest for not participating in clashes but interfering with an arrest. Interrogations for 11 arrested minors began at the Beccaria juvenile prison, with prosecutors seeking custody for some. Separately, Milan's police issued ten urban bans (Dacur) to youths, and in Bologna, a 21-year-old student's arrest was validated with a reporting obligation instead of house arrest.
