Paris police ban unauthorized rallies in central districts Thursday
Paris police have banned unauthorized gatherings and demonstrations in several sensitive areas of the capital on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., including around the Élysée Palace, Matignon, the National Assembly, and the Louvre. The prefecture issued the order on Wednesday, also covering the Senate, the Champs-Élysées, Parisian train stations, Place d'Italie, Place de la Bastille, Place de la République, Châtelet, Les Halles, Île de la Cité, and the department store district. The measure targets processions and rallies not declared according to legal requirements. The ban applies to specific perimeters during the daytime hours, aiming to prevent potential disruptions in high-profile government and tourist locations across the capital.
