France tells resale platforms to remove looted goods after riots
France's digital minister on Monday urged online resale platforms to remove listings for "stolen items" following Saturday's looting and summoned representatives of companies including Vinted and eBay for talks. The unrest, some of France's worst street violence in years, damaged over 3,000 businesses after weeks of student demonstrations. Minister Anne Le Henanff demanded platforms delete such listings and cooperate with authorities to prosecute resellers, with six platforms invited to meet officials. Vinted said it applied "zero tolerance" and had removed suspicious listings, while eBay reported no confirmed increase in theft-related posts, citing proactive detection tools. The talks include interior and justice ministry officials.
