French 10-year bond yield tops 5% as Euribor rates rise
France's ten-year bond yield surpassed 5% on Wednesday for the first time since 2002, following weekend protests that raised investor doubts about the country's ability to balance its finances. The spread over German bonds widened to 1.57 percentage points. The Euribor rate rose for a third consecutive session across three, six, and twelve-month terms, with the six-month rate reaching 3.030%. European markets were mixed, with Carrefour experiencing its worst session since 2020 after attacks on about 50 stores. Oil prices climbed above $110 per barrel following attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, while gold fell slightly to $4,114 per ounce. Asian markets gained on strong results from SpaceX and Super Micro Computer.
