news.kbs.co.kr (Korean) —

Violent protests in Paris and Milan have temporarily subsided after France imposed a second partial curfew and both governments announced military deployments ahead of further demonstrations. France issued a second nighttime curfew for Paris and other areas on October 20, following a first curfew on October 19. Authorities will deploy anti-terror troops for a planned "Yellow Vest" protest on October 24. The unrest has damaged about 3,000 shops, with economic costs estimated at nearly 2 trillion won. So far, 2,500 people have been arrested and 800 referred to prosecutors. Italy will send 500 soldiers to Milan and is considering preemptive detention of potential offenders, including minors.
