Warehouse shortage in western Ukraine triples rental prices after Russian strikes

Warehouse space in western Ukraine has become scarce and rental prices have tripled in some areas following Russian attacks on logistics infrastructure, according to Berger Cargo director Valerii Baranovskyi. Baranovskyi noted a speculative element in the market as companies mass-search for available space, but expects the situation to stabilize within about two months. His company has expanded into Chernivtsi with roughly 12,000 square meters after losing warehouses in the Kyiv region. The shortages follow a major Russian strike on August 5, 2026, that destroyed logistics facilities for companies including Rozetka, Epicentr, and Nova Poshta, with damages estimated in billions of dollars and about 90% of grocery chain logistics reportedly destroyed.
