Ukrainian drones downed across six Russian regions, casualties reported

Russia's Ministry of Defense reported that 45 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems on Monday, September 21, across six Russian regions, with casualties reported. The drones were shot down between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Ryazan regions, as well as Bashkortostan and Crimea. Regional officials reported multiple injuries from the attacks, including shrapnel wounds and acoustic trauma in Belgorod Oblast, where several people were hospitalized. In Bryansk Oblast, a kamikaze drone strike on a residential building in the village of Andreykovichi killed the homeowner, while three other people were wounded in attacks on vehicles. The incidents mark a continuation of cross-border drone strikes amid the ongoing conflict.
