Saudi airstrikes on Yemen intensify as Houthis report 28 attacks in 24 hours

The Houthi group reported 28 Saudi airstrikes across Yemen in 24 hours, raising concerns about worsening civilian suffering amid ongoing deadly fighting. The strikes targeted Taiz, Al-Jawf, and Marib provinces, according to a military spokesman. The US State Department restricted government employee travel to the Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu due to security concerns from Houthi attacks. Yemeni government forces also announced strikes on Houthi positions in Al-Bayda, destroying rocket launchers and weapons stores, while clashes continued near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Residents of Taiz, home to about four million people, reported rising food and medicine prices, fuel shortages, and displacement fears. Over 1,600 families arrived in Aden and 1,500 in Hodeidah, facing severe humanitarian needs including shelter, food, and healthcare.
