Russia Vows to Escalate Strikes on Kyiv After Ukraine's Largest Drone Attack on Moscow

Russia has vowed to intensify strikes on Kyiv after Ukraine launched its largest drone attack on Moscow since the war began, killing two people and setting an oil refinery ablaze on the final day of Russia's parliamentary elections. The assault involved roughly 1,600 drones, with about 450 aimed at the capital, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised the operation, saying it hit a major oil facility and a logistics hub. Moscow regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed two deaths and said a drone crash into a residential building forced the evacuation of around 400 people. Russia's defense ministry accused Kyiv of trying to disrupt the vote and promised to escalate precision strikes on military targets in Kyiv. An exit poll showed the ruling United Russia party on track to secure 49.4 percent of the vote, with the Communist Party at 14.2 percent.
