Russian drone attack on Sumy apartment building kills woman, injures husband

Russia attacked a residential apartment building in Sumy with drones on Sunday evening, September 20, killing a woman and wounding her husband. Two strike drones hit near the multi-story building, also damaging five cars. The 41-year-old husband sustained multiple shrapnel wounds and was hospitalized, according to Sumy regional governor Oleh Hryhorov. Less than an hour earlier, another drone struck a civilian car, which caught fire, and the city also came under aviation strikes. An educational facility was damaged by explosions, though no injuries were reported there. The attack follows a separate Russian airstrike on Sumy on September 18 that killed a married couple and wounded 10 people.
