Russia may attack west of Kyiv with Shahed drones overnight, advisor warns

Presidential technology advisor Serhiy Beskrestnov warned that Russia may attack Ukrainian territory west of Kyiv overnight using conventional Shahed drones, taking advantage of poor weather conditions. In a Telegram post on Monday, September 21, Beskrestnov said the enemy would likely exploit bad weather, as it did previously, to target areas west of Kyiv with gasoline-powered Shahed drones. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia attacked 10 regions overnight, with explosions in Kyiv and the region, a large warehouse fire in Boyarka, and a strike on Zaporizhzhia's historic university building that injured five people. The Air Force reported Russia launched 172 Shahed drones and other munitions on September 21, with air defense neutralizing 147. Hits were recorded at 14 locations, with debris falling at four sites. Infrastructure objects were also struck in Poltava, Kropyvnytskyi, Dnipro, and Chernihiv regions.
