Russia Vows Retaliation Against Kyiv After Massive Drone Attack on Moscow

Russia has vowed to intensify strikes on Kyiv after a Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow killed at least two people and sparked a fire at an oil processing facility. The attack occurred on the final day of Russia's parliamentary elections. Russian Defense officials accused Ukraine of attempting to disrupt the elections and promised a military response. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported approximately 1,600 drones were involved, with 450 directed at the capital, marking one of the largest drone attacks on Moscow since the 2022 invasion. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised the attack, claiming it significantly impacted Russian oil and logistics infrastructure. The drone strike coincided with the election's final day, where the ruling United Russia party was projected to win 49.4 percent of the vote.
